News Alert: Historic Odysseus moon mission marks a milestone in reaching the lunar surface

Intuitive Machines' IM-1 lander, also called Odysseus or "Odie," is on the lunar surface after experiencing unexpected issues hours prior to landing.

The exact state of the lander is not yet clear, but the company has confirmed it has made contact and acquired a signal from the spacecraft. The landing is a historic one, marking the first commercial spacecraft to soft-land on the moon, and the first US-made vehicle to touch down on the lunar surface since the Apollo program ended more than five decades ago.
